Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout
Had a successful search yesterday. Now I just have to decide whether to drink or cellar. Decisons, decisions.

CASTLE DANGER BREWERY - Fresh Hop Mosaic IPA Might be one of the best fresh hopped IPAs I have tried this year. Nice fruity aroma and flavor. Big juicy hop flavor with a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. Flat out, a great beer, kind of bummed I only bought 2 bottles. If you can still find it, buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

UNITA BREWING COMPANY - Jacked B Nimble Imperial Black Pumpkin Ale Ale brewed with pumpkin and spices and aged in bourbon barrells with a 11% ABV. Other than the name, no idea this was a pumpkin Style beer. Not notice if Pumpkin and spices in the taste or aroma. I couldn't get past the bourbon. A little alcohol burn too. Guessing this one would be better aged in the cellar for awhile over drinking it fresh.

ROGUE ALES - Rogue Farms Pumpkin Patch Ale Nice pumpkin beer from Rogue using pumpkins they grew on their farm. Pumpkin and spices. Nothing exciting, just a real solid well balanced beer.

UNITA BREWING COMPANY - Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin My first new "pumpkin" beer this year. "Ale brewed with pumpkin and spices and aged in oak barrels with a 10.31% ABV." Excellent. Nice balance of pumpkin, spices and oak with some vanilla hints. No notice of the alcohol. This might be one of my favorite pumpkin beers I have tried, top 5 for sure.

STONE BREWING CO. - Chai Spiced Imperial Russian Stout 2015 I just had their base RIS, so thought I would follow up with their Chai Spiced version on this International Stout Day. The base RIS is as good as you will find, so this is sounded like an interesting variation. Great aroma, the addition of the Chai spices really added to this beer with the cinnamon standing out the most. It was just enough, it didn't overpower the base RIS aroma/taste, but gave it an interesting twist. The spices really did a good job. Was interesting to try and glad I found this one.

STONE BREWING CO. - Imperial Russian Stout 2015 What else would I have on International Stout Day? As solid as Imperial Stout you will find, especially for the price. Standard RIS aroma and flavor of coffee and dark chocolate. No notice of the 10.6% ABV. Worth the hype, a very easy drinking RIS, could easily drink a few of these on a cold night.

BROOKLYN BREWERY - Brooklyn Quintaceratops This is a Belgian style quadrupel brewed with dark candi syrup and aged in rum and bourbon barrells with a 10.9% ABV. Sounded really interesting. Aroma has some dark fruits and rum up front with hints of vanilla and coconu. Also some faint standard quad notes. The rum is really up front in the flavor. It almost dominates everything else. Some light fruits and the candi syrup is more notice noticebale in the finish. I really couldn't detect anything from the bourbon barrels. Very interesting , but kind of all over the place. I think some aging would do wonders to bring everything together. Would love to have a bottle to save, but at 24.99, this one was enough.

GOOSE ISLAND BEER CO. - Matilda Belgian Style Pale Ale 2014 Delicious. Aroma is spicy Belgian goodness; very fruity and spicy. Tastes the same, a little sweetness, but well balanced. Great example of a Belgian ale.

ALASKAN BREWING CO. - Imperial IPA This is part of Alaskan's Pilot Series and is a double IPA with a 8.5% ABV. Aroma is pretty faint, some mild fruitiness with some earthy tones. Taste is similar. Ita on the ligjter side and pretty mild for an Imperial. I actually enjoy their base IPA more.
