FOUNDERS BREWING COMPANY - Doom 2017 Third offering in their barrel aged series. Imperial IPA aged in bourbon barrels. Very enjoyable, a bit hot at 12.4% ABV though. Again, nice change of pace from Founders, well worth trying.

FOUNDERS BREWING COMPANY - Frootwood 2017 Lots of mixed reviews on this one, but I really enjoyed it. Cherry ale aged in bourbon and maple syrup barrels? More please. Could use a touch more maple syrup character in my opinion, but glad I found it and have many more to savor. Congrats to Founders on thinking outside the box. There are enough barrel aged stouts out there, nice change of pace.

SURLY BREWING COMPANY - Barrel Aged Darkness 2016 (released in 2017) Had to go with something big for #2000 of course, and this is as big as it gets for a Minnesota brewery offering. Damn tasty too, glad I have more. ; )

When I started this (go back to the beginning to see what got this stupid blog started), I never thought I would still be posting at beer #2000, but here we are. I guess at this stage I will just keep this going as long as I can and as long as there are new beers to try. What else am I gonna do?
